Investing With Exchange Traded Funds
An ETF, like a mutual fund, is a basket of securities (stocks, bonds, commodities, or physical assets) that trade like common stocks on a public exchange. Alpha and Lambda typically select ETFs based on a narrowly focused index or geographic/economic regional index.
- Exchange – ETFs are listed on exchanges, typically BATS, also NYSE and NASDAQ.
- Traded – ETFs can be bought or sold continuously throughout the trading day in a brokerage account.
- Fund – ETFs, like mutual funds, divide ownership of the basket of securities into shares that can be purchased, providing the owner fractional ownership of all the securities.

Seeking Maximum Growth and Diversification
ETFs allow investors to focus their strategy with stocks from narrowly focused economic sectors, geographic regions, types of bonds, physical assets, or commodities while remaining diversified.
